Young Star Shoots to the Top!

Aaron Baker our 14 year old apprentice at Sandgate Harrisons was recently entered in to the Habia Young Apprentice of the Year competition by Keith Graham Academy in Folkestone. Aaron attends the academy one day a week as part of his youth apprentice scheme with school; he is also required to work one day at Harrisons Hair Team in Sandgate.
His journey started in March where the college held an internal "hair up" competition to judge who they would be sending to represent them in the next stages of the contest, each college all over England sent there most budding young students through to the judging panel in London.
Aaron was picked out of hundreds of students to just 28, which was then narrowed to 12 in the final in May. He attended the concluding show on 10th June in London where he had the opportunity to watch and assist famous and well respected figures of the hair industry.
After many nail biting hours, Aaron picked up 4th place for the Keith Graham Academy and Harrisons Hair Team. Habia have personally told us that they intend to keep a close eye on Aaron throughout his career and have encouraged him to enter any competition he can through his college.
On winning this coveted place in the competition, Aaron said "the whole experience was really exciting, it was an excellent event and I have learnt lots through doing it. I am really pleased to be able to show my tutors in college and at Harrisons how far I have come and can't wait to get into cat walk shows and stage work!"
