Really disappointed with our most recent experience at Harrisons Hair Team.

I originally took my daughter here around three months ago for a haircut and the stylist we had then was brilliant. She cut my daughter’s hair and fringe beautifully and, just as importantly, was incredibly patient and understanding of her anxiety and autism. Because of that positive experience, I was very happy to return.

Unfortunately, we went back for her complimentary fringe trim and had a different stylist, and the experience could not have been more different. Her fringe was cut far too short, despite her having naturally wavy hair, and the stylist then said she needed to “take some weight out” and continued cutting into it. Since then, instead of sitting down like it did after the original cut, sections are sticking and curling upwards and it is extremely difficult to style.

What upset me just as much was the way my daughter was treated during the appointment. She struggles with anxiety and found it difficult to keep looking up, and I felt the stylist became visibly frustrated with her rather than adapting and working around her. This was particularly disappointing after the first stylist had been so kind and accommodating.

I messaged the salon afterwards, explained what had happened and sent photographs showing her fringe before and after. I deliberately contacted them privately first to give them the opportunity to respond and resolve it, but I have received no reply.

I appreciate that hair grows back, but for a young girl who is already anxious and self-conscious, having her fringe cut this short has been really upsetting. It’s a shame because our first experience was so good, but the second appointment and the complete lack of response afterwards have left me very disappointed.
